***IMPORTANT NOTE***
VoIP Trunk calls use anywhere between 25 Kbps (Lower Codec Quality) to 100 Kbps (Highest Codec Quality) bandwidth on the "UPLOAD" speed with your ISP's internet connection. Double check your internet upload speed to ensure you have a minimum of 800 Kbps upload speed connection with your ISP service provider. This leaves room for the Highest Codec Quality level to be used with room for your regular internet traffic.
The "UPLOAD" speed determines how many lines and calls you can enable on your account with clear H. D. Audio quality. If you have four lines/trunks - to have four calls going on simultaneously - you would need 400 Kbps upload speed clearance. Most ISP's usually run faster speeds these days, in the Mbps upload range, so call quality is usually not an issue.
Most PBX Phone Systems and SIP Client Devices (IP Phones) are already set-up to "auto sense" codec and speed usage. They will adjust automatically with our SIP servers to negotiate call performance on each call.
When in double - just search for "Internet speed test" in your browser and run a speed test from a PC on the same network you'll be using the VoIP Trunk Line service with. That will confirm you have enough upload speed clearance.
SIP / VoIP Trunk service is not "guaranteed" as it is an internet/server based solution (as per our TOS-Terms Of Service). Up-time is usually 99.99%. Downtime is avoided due to back-up and redundancy. But, occasionally service may be interrupted due to third party technical issues (IE: ISP outages, and/or other third party internet related server issues).
We do offer a "Fail-over" forwarding service, which allows your lines to forward to another number automatically as a back-up redundancy on your account so you don't miss any calls should outage issues occur.
