All our VoIP / SIP based client VoIP IP Phones are feature packed and designed for corporate business and home office use alike.
An IP Phone is simply a desktop or cordless handset+base unit which connects to your network using wired or wireless/WIFI. The device then is either configured by a main PBX Phone System box, or manually configured depending on the SIP registration protocols used.
When using an IP based telephone system, the main system is usually set-up to "push" configuration details securely to the device. In a on-premise PBX system, devices can be set-up quickly in bulk using the main system features. Some initial set-up is usually required to import or manually set-up each extension and user. But, it can save time in large deployment scenarios.
Manual IP Phone set-up is usually used when connecting one phone to a third party PBX device offsite, or when using a hosted off-site PBX solution.
IP Phones have the added advantage in not requiring separate wiring for analog lines/extensions, and with today's technology - both power and networking can be done using one cord (PoE networks). New phone technology has also started to take hold using wireless or WIFI phones where only a power cord is required and WIFI SIP protocol is used just as if the device was wired into your network.
It is important to ensure your device, whether using as a single client, or in a work group / PBX environment to ensure your phones and phone system are secured properly. Use the latest firmware and strong security policies for usernames, passwords and SIP Port / Firewall rules.
We carry a wide range of IP phone brands and models designed to suit most home office and corporate business needs...
